Ok here's the story: I have a LOT to tell you about what's happening, but I'd also like to tell you about what's not happening. I'm not putting the toys away. I'm not answering phone calls, texts and emails all day long. I'm not launching the new amazing inclusive mama community I've been dreaming about (yet!). Because there are only so many hours in the day. And as a mother, partner, business owner, daughter, sister, friend, and person who needs at least a little time outside every day, I'm just not doing everything anymore.
And the secret is: it's hard. And the other secret is: it's awesome. I'm enjoying a better balance of family, work, and play. I'm making more time and space to breathe, walk, see friends, and read books, instead of doing ALL THE THINGS. I'm choosing to teach yoga classes I love. I've planned a pretty incredible retreat with a dear friend. I seriously love facilitating mamas circles. And while I have about a million more ideas, I also love afternoons at the park. Taking our time grocery shopping so Caroline can push the kid-sized cart around Trader Joe's (and hopefully not hit anyone's ankles but mine). Seeing my girlfriends for book club. Taking a weekend off to go to a dear friend's wedding. Someone recently asked me, "what's next? What are your big goals?" And I think she was surprised by my answer - to enjoy this time. To not be so wrapped up in whats next. To slow down the entrepreneur hamster wheel and enjoy the spring and summer. To keep finding the balance that makes ME happy and continually push back against the endless "shoulds" and judgments about how we're supposed to live our lives. I hope you'll join me in living in the moment and being easier on yourself when you don't get it all done. Take some time to prioritize yourself and your well-being. Check-in to see if you are leading the life you want or the life someone else thinks you should. And keep reading below for some ways to retreat, yoga, and connect this spring and summer :) I hope you have a wonderful May! Love, Elizabeth
