What is Harvest? Harvest is a 3 week vegetarian program that teaches you to source and prepare delicious meals that are good for you, farmers and the planet. You'll be provided with a harvest guide, seasonal cookbook, and vegetarian meal plans with shopping lists. It's not a cleanse, diet, or restrictive plan. Harvest is the first 3 weeks of a sustainable, delicious way of eating!
What if 3 weeks seems like a long time? You have the option to take the program at your own speed - start with one week or even just by trying one new recipe. Harvest was designed to take you through 21 days of healthy, sustainable eating - just enough time to start creating the habits you'll need to continue eating delicious and locally-sourced home cooked meals.
Where does the program take place? Wherever you are! Harvest is a virtual program which means you'll receive all of the materials before you start and connect with Elizabeth with any questions you have along the way. You can sign up from anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection to receive the materials.
Is Harvest gluten-free? Dairy free? Vegetarian? All of the Harvest recipes are vegetarian and gluten-free. They can also easily be adapted to be dairy-free and vegan with a few simple substitutions that are explained in the guide. Each meal is based around whole foods and very few processed ingredients are used, which means you can easily exchange ingredients to suit your dietary preferences.
What if I have a nut/soy/other allergy? The only soy ingredients in the program are tempeh and tamari, which can be easily substituted. You are welcome to exchange nuts for seeds, or omit nuts from the recipes. I'm also happy to offer guidance on your specific allergies or sensitivities so please send me an e-mail and we'll see how Harvest can work for you.
Will this program really change the world? Yes! Every dollar you spend on food is a vote for the way you want it to be produced - by choosing products that support local farmers, small producers around the world, and our environment, you'll build a world where those things are important. Shopping at a farmer's market instead of a grocery store results in an average of 70% more earnings for that farmer and better food security in your community. Not to mention the incredible taste of fresh produce in a home-cooked meal. You'll learn more throughout the program how your diet can support farmers abroad and reduce negative impacts on the environment.
How do I sign up? You can register on your own or receive a discount when you sign up with a friend. Upon completing the registration form, you will be prompted to pay via square using your credit card. If you prefer to pay by cash or check just send me an e-mail and we'll make it happen.
